Kristin Attiogbe, CRNP, practices with Capital Digestive Care in Chevy Chase, Maryland, just outside Washington, D.C., with a clinical focus on managing inflammatory bowel disease (IBD). After more than eight years practicing internal medicine, she transitioned to gastroenterology, where she developed a strong interest in the complexities of caring for patients with IBD. Three years ago, she partnered with a physician colleague to launch a chronic care management program dedicated to patients with IBD. The program was designed to provide a more proactive, structured, supportive, and multidisciplinary model of care that extends beyond episodic office visits and emphasizes ongoing partnership with patients managing a chronic disease. More recently, she also trained in intestinal ultrasound as a means of improving IBD care in the community.
